As it is reported earlier that google is now introducing the new video page indexing feature. Many of the users are curios that how it will work. In the latest update it can be assumed that google is renaming the “coverage” report to “pages” report.
Here we can see the screenshot of both reports. On the left side can clearly see that the normal link shows the coverage bar and on the right side of the screenshot it can bee be seen that the demo at google I/O the coverage report has just renamed to pages report.
After sharing this screenshot it can be clearly seen that the “coverage” menu is going to be replaced by “pages”. Somehow most the features will remain same but it will limit the reporting and information collection to some pages.
The new google indexing will definitely prove its users to authenticity of his website. The more indexing to the pages will some how can be proven to slow working for many websites but such steps by google are well appreciated.
4 Changes to Index Coverage Report by Google
The rundown of changes to the Index Coverage report in Search Console incorporates:
- Elimination of the generic “crawl anomaly” issue type – crawl error messages will now be mapped to an issue with a finer resolution.
- Whenever a robots.txt blocked a page and it got indexed, it is now reported as “indexed but blocked” (warning) instead of “submitted but blocked” (error).
- An issue with the warning “indexed without content” was added.
- Reporting of soft 404s has been improved
There is a strong emphasis on data accuracy in these updates.
In terms of crawl errors, there is no more guesswork involved, since the “crawl anomalies” issue is being replaced with specific problems and solutions.
